A Message from Pastor Frank Sawatsky

Join us this Sunday as we dive back into our "Grow Up" sermon series from Corinthians. This weekend, we'll focus on the Fatherly discipline of God, designed for our good. Church discipline is part of God's plan for purifying and keeping His church.

In the meantime, here are a few exciting opportunities for you and your family to grow deeper in your faith:

1) Mission Trip to Southeast Asia: Northview is heading to Southeast Asia in July/August, and the application deadline is fast approaching. If you are interested in being part of this incredible gospel ministry, please fill out an application form here. This is a unique chance to serve alongside God's people and support those in need across the globe. Please pray for the team and feel free to reach out to me with any questions. We'd love to have you join us!

2) Alpha at Mission Penitentiary: Alpha will be starting up again, but with a twist - ministering within the Mission Penitentiary. This unique opportunity requires orientation, background checks, and special training. We're looking for 4-6 men to serve as table leaders for this 8-week commitment. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Frank for more information.

I'm looking forward to worshipping with you this weekend. Take some time today or Saturday to prepare your hearts to come and worship the risen Lord. May God use our time together to deepen our roots in Him so that we may bear much fruit.

"Did You Know?" with Darcy

Did you know that this past week we held baptism classes across our Abbotsford locations for those interested in being baptized at our upcoming baptism services in March? An incredible 82 people attended, expressing their desire to take this important step of faith! Please pray for each of them as they prepare to publicly declare their commitment to Jesus. Now you know!

Events & Updates

Northview Cares

Each month we’ll be supporting a different organization in Mission. This is a no obligation, low barrier opportunity for those that call Northview “home,” to help our community in a variety of ways.

January: People Powered

A grassroots initiative started by locals who are passionate about helping the most vulnerable. ‘People Powered’ helps provide hot meals, warm clothing and bedding/shelter to seniors and houseless individuals in partnership with agencies from around Mission and the generosity of people like you!

Would you help support them by bringing new or gently used socks, warm jackets and blankets throughout the month of January? Drop off your donations at the Connect Desk this month to help ‘People Powered’ of Mission. We appreciate your support!

Seniors Coffee & Connect

We're excited to announce a new gathering for seniors at Northview Mission -a time for connection, fellowship and community.

Our first Seniors Coffee & Connection will take place on Tuesday, January 21 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Join us for coffee, tea, and great conversations. No registration is required - just come as you are and enjoy the company.

We look forward to seeing you there! Feel free to email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Child Dedication Class

At Northview, we are committed to equipping parents to raise gospel-centered children who know and love our great God. Child dedication is a part of that journey - a public declaration of a parent's intent to lead and nurture their child in the ways of the Lord.

Join us for this class to learn more about the purpose of child dedication and to answer any questions you may have. The class will be held at Northview Mission on Sunday, January 26 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. Register using the link below!

New Worship Centre Info Night

Join us for a drop-in informational meeting about the new Worship Centre on Wednesday, January 29 in the Atrium from 6pm-8pm. This will be an informal time to look over the plans and the finances, talk to people on the Development Committee, and more. There is no formal presentation but there will be opportunities for conversations with those more closely involved in the planning of this building that will take us into the future.

This meeting is not the Special General Meeting that we will have in March which will include another vote for the building. If you have any questions about this, please contact Pastor Darcy at [email protected] or click the button below.

Calling All Contractors and Suppliers

Titan Construction will soon be accepting tenders for our new Worship Centre at Downes Road. If you are interested in bidding on certain aspects of the construction process or providing supplies, please email Pastor Darcy at [email protected] or click the button below.

Darcy has been tasked with collecting interested parties and passing them on to Titan and the Northview Development Committee. They will then review all the interested parties and award the opportunity to bid on the project to those they feel are best suited to meet the requirements.

Chilliwack Campus Info Night

If you haven’t heard, Northview is planting a new campus in Chilliwack. As we start to work towards launching Northview Chilliwack, we will host two interest nights to share our vision for the plant and our timeline and invite anyone interested to join us in this opportunity to work together to get Northview Chilliwack started.

If you live in Chilliwack and call Northview home, or maybe you live in Abbotsford or Mission but sense God calling you to be a part of this church plant, we want to invite you to our first interest meeting on January 26 at 7pm at Central Community Church in Chilliwack! Click the button below to learn more!

Questioning Christianity

Do you or someone you know have doubts or questions about Christianity? Questioning Christianity is a place where men and women with doubts, hang-ups, barriers, and/or questions about Christianity can discuss and seek answers without judgment or bitterness.

Columbia Bible College is opening space for Questioning Christianity from January 29 to February 26. This opportunity is for those who have questions, both big and small, about Christianity. Whether you are a Christian or not, Questioning Christianity is designed for you to ask your questions about Jesus, the Bible, and the Church. Anything! We can’t promise we’ll have all the answers but we’ll listen, discuss, and seek together with you. So, if this describes you or someone you know, register today! The sessions will deal with 5 big questions of faith, including death, morality, and purpose.

Andy Steiger, the director of Apologetics Canada, and Graham Nickel, one of the elders at Northview, will be leading this group.

Space is limited so please register at the link below.
