"Did you Know" with Darcy
|
Did you know that March 11, 2025, will be a historic day for Northview Community Church? We’re holding a special congregational meeting at 7:00pm in Center Court to vote on whether to move forward with building a new Worship Centre.
If the vote is yes, we’ll begin the largest building project in Northview’s history, creating space for future generations to hear about the love of God. If the vote is no, it will propel us into a time of great creativity as we try to accommodate growth while being very limited in space. Either way, this will be a defining moment for our church.
All are welcome to attend, but only members can vote. Please be in prayer over this important decision! Well, now you know!

Each month we’ll be supporting a different organization in Mission. This is a no obligation, low barrier opportunity for those that call Northview “home,” to help our community in a variety of ways.
For the month of February, we will be in prayer for Parkside Church here in Mission. Please see a few of the prayer requests below from Pastor Clint:
- We are currently preaching through the Gospel of Luke. Our prayer is that our church family will grow in their love for God and develop a heart for reaching others.
- Please pray for the leaders and volunteers of 'Celebrate Recovery' as they guide people toward freedom from addiction through a relationship with Christ.
- For the preparation of a soft launch of a church plant in West Mission, with the hope of reaching more people with the Gospel.
- Our desire is to see every member of Christ’s body fully alive in Him.
Thank you for joining us in prayer over Parkside Church!

Parent Equipping Sessions
|
At Northview, we are committed to helping people become deeply rooted followers of Jesus. This includes not only ministering to people of all ages—from children to seniors—but also equipping parents, grandparents, and guardians as they guide the next generation in faith.
To support you in this, we are hosting a series of Parent Equipping Nights at the Downes Road campus, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during Middle School and High School Youth nights. Both nights will cover the same topic, so you can choose whichever works best for your schedule.
The first Parent Equipping Nights will take place on February 18 and 20 with both evenings focusing on the topic “Train Up a Child in the Way They Should Go.” The sessions will be led by Bonny Wormald, Ron Friesen, and Fredy Orozco, who will provide biblical insight and practical wisdom for discipling your children to raise them up in the ways of the faith.

Gospel Shaped Work Discussion & Prayer Forum
|
In Ephesians 4:12, church leaders are called to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” At Northview, we recognize that our members serve in ministry not only within the church but also in their daily vocational settings. With this in mind, our pastors and elders are eager to explore ways to equip and encourage our community for ministry in every area of life.
As part of the 2024-2025 ministry year, we will host three sessions specifically for Educators and support staff serving in public school, private school, and homeschool settings. The second session, How the Gospel Shapes the Way We Relate to Our Colleagues and Those in Authority Over Us, will take place on Monday, February 24. Each gathering will include a short teaching, guided discussion, and time for prayer.

Join us for the 2025 Northview Men’s Retreat at the stunning RockRidge Canyon Retreat Centre near Princeton from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13. This year’s theme, Sharp Friendship, focuses on how Scripture, especially Proverbs, guides us in building gospel-centred friendships among men in the church. Let’s strengthen our bonds with one another and grow in our love for God together.
The retreat is open to all men, and we encourage you to bring your sons (middle school age and older) to share in this meaningful weekend.
Early bird pricing is $215 (or $155 for students) for a shared dorm and is available until March 11. Semi-private and private room options are also offered at an additional cost. Registration closes March 26, so don’t wait! Secure your spot today by clicking the link below.

Cyrus Centre - Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser
|
Cyrus Centre is hosting their annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) fundraising walk on Saturday, February 22 at 4:00pm at Sevenoaks Alliance Church.
As a proud partner of Cyrus Centre, we’re walking to help provide safe shelter, warm meals, and the hope of a brighter future for those in need. By walking and raising funds, we can make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable youth in our community.
This is a great opportunity for our church family to come together, support Cyrus Centre, and show God’s love in action. You can register as a walker, team captain, or support the event by spreading the word! For more details or to sign up, click the link below!
