May 2-8

Welcome to the Mission Campus newsletter, where you can stay up to date on all of the upcoming events in the life of our Church! Join us this weekend as we begin our new sermon series "Jehovah Jireh," focusing on God’s character as our faithful provider.

This week, we’ll explore Genesis 22 and other selected passages that reveal what it means to trust God completely, even when the path ahead is uncertain.

We’d love to see you there!

Hey Northview.

We're excited to share that we’ve raised enough funds to cover all of our operating expenses for the year! That means every dollar given from this point forward will go directly toward our plans to renovate the south building into a refreshed, functional ministry space.
With two months remaining in our fiscal year, we want to encourage you to continue giving generously so we can complete these renovations this summer. In just a couple of weeks, we’ll be announcing more details about the project and sharing some additional ways you can get involved beyond giving.
Thank you so much for your continued generosity!

"Did You Know" with Darcy

Did you know that we finally broke ground on our new Worship Centre? This past Sunday, we held a special service on the site of the future building and invited all the children present to grab a shovel and dig! What a great way to celebrate what God is doing at Northview. These children are the future leaders, volunteers, and congregants of our church—how fitting for them to help start the construction.

Well, now you know!

God has been so kind to Northview, and after years of praying and planning, we are excited to break ground on our new Worship Centre at the Downes Road Campus! Join us this Sunday, April 27 at 3:00pm in the back parking lot for a one hour celebration as we mark the start of this next chapter.

This is a family-friendly event with worship, a short message, and a special moment where the kids get to do the digging!

What to bring:
- A lawn chair (if the weather allows us to be outside)
- A shovel for the kids
- Your whole family

Let’s celebrate what God has done—and what He is going to do!

Events & Updates

Northview Cares - Advokate Life

Save your loose change and help support Advokate and Hope for Women Pregnancy Services! The Annual Baby Bottle Campaign runs from Mother's Day to Father's Day, and this year at Northview Mission, we'll be supporting the campaign for the month of May.

Drop by the Connect Desk and pick up a baby bottle on Sunday. Over the month, fill it with loose change, bills, cheques, and/or a donation form, and return it at the Connect Desk at the end of the month.

Help raise support for vulnerable women and families in need. By filling a bottle, you're taking part in literally changing and saving lives! Thanks so much for your generosity!

Secret Church

We’re all hard-wired to want to make our lives count. None of us wants to get to the end of life, look back, and realize, “I missed the point.” So how do we make our lives count? This step-by-step journey through the life of Jesus in the book of Matthew will reveal a clear answer to that question. And for all who are bold enough to follow his lead, by God’s grace we are guaranteed to get to the end of our time in this world and realize, “My life counted for what matters most.”

Join us on May 9 at our Mission Campus for a deep dive into the Gospel of Matthew as we join David Platt via video in an in-depth study. Secret Church is an opportunity for us to gather and intensely study the Bible and pray like and for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

The cost for this event is $25, which includes dinner (served around 6pm), refreshments and snacks throughout the evening as well as a workbook.

Hurting Moms Mending Hearts Workshop

If you are a mom hurting over the choices your child is making, you are not alone. Join us for a half-day workshop on how to start a journey of hope and healing.

The workshop will take place here at Northview Mission on May 24, from 9:00am to 12:30pm. No registration is required. For more information, please email [email protected].

In Ephesians 4:12, church leaders are called to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”  Since we know that Northview "saints" have ministry work inside and outside of the gathered community, our pastors and elders are interested in exploring opportunities for equipping and encouraging them in their daily vocational ministry.

We will be hosting our 3rd session to encourage and support educators and support staff who serve in public schools, private schools as well as homeschool settings. There will be a short teaching time, some guided discussion, and prayer. Each session is a stand alone event, so even if you have not attended the first two, please join us.

Parent Equipping Sessions - Mission

We will be hosting a Parent Equipping Session here at Northview Mission, on Sunday, May 25. We are looking for some feedback from parents this upcoming Sunday, as to what the topic will be for this session. When you drop your kids off at Northview Kids, watch for a card that will be handed out with 3 topics listed. Select which topic you would be most interested in hearing more about, and return it to the check-in desk at the end of the service.

The topic which has the majority of the votes will be the one our guest speaker, Lara Ragpot, will address on May 25. Thanks so much for your help with this, more details to come soon!

At Northview, we’re committed to helping people become deeply rooted followers of Jesus, and that includes equipping parents to guide their kids in faith.

Dating can be a tricky topic, especially in today’s culture. Whether your kids are just starting to ask questions, already dating, or you’re preparing for the future, this evening is for you. Lisa Toews and Pastor Luke Friesen will offer a biblical perspective and lead a practical conversation on how to walk with your kids through the world of dating with wisdom and grace.

Join us in the Atrium at the Downes Road Campus on Thursday, May 1, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. This night run alongside our Middle School and High School Youth nights, so we'd love to see you there—especially if you’re already dropping off your child.

Women's Conference

We live in a world full of things clawing for our attention, constantly demanding our time, depleting our energy, and dragging down our hearts. We are often weary of the conflict, the grind, the non-stop schedules. We are burdened by the expectations, the unrealized hopes, and the unexpected suffering around us. We can feel stuck.

And yet, Jesus offers a completely different reality: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

We invite all women and girls (from middle school and older) to join us at the Downes Road Campus on May 30 and 31 as we come to Jesus, dig into God’s Word together, and find true rest. Click the button below to register!

If the financial cost or the need for childcare is a barrier for you attending this event, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Memorial for Marv Klassen

We are saddened to announce that one of our long-serving elders, Marv Klassen, has passed away this week, finishing his race and entering the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marv was a steady and wise presence on the board and within our church family, and we all will miss him deeply.

Please pray for the Klassen family during this time of grief. Marv's funeral will be held on Friday, May 9 at 1:00pm at the Downes Road Campus. The family has asked that, instead of giving flowers, donations can be made to IJM (International Justice Mission), an organization that Marv was very passionate about.
