A Message from Pastor Eric

On the “Local Outreach” page on Northview’s website, you will read the following:

As a multi-campus church, we believe that it’s important to be investing in the local communities that we are planted in. Alongside our formal partnerships, we are pursuing ways to lovingly engage people to see their flourishing.

One of Northview’s partnerships that has a unique relationship with Central Abbotsford is The Gathering Markit (TGM), which operates one of its two locations on the downstairs floor of Mill Lake Church.

This Weekend at Northview

This weekend at Northview, we’re continuing our Grow Up sermon series in 1 Corinthians, exploring what it means to mature in our faith. Our focus will be on 1 Corinthians 9:1-27, where Paul challenges us to lay down our rights for the sake of the gospel and to run the race of faith with discipline and purpose.

Join us as we dive into this passage and learn how to grow in endurance, humility, and obedience together.

Volunteers Needed for The Gathering Markit

Northview is proud to partner with The Gathering Markit, a boutique grocery store that offers a hand up to those encountering food insecurity, dedicated to providing families with access to affordable and healthy food in Abbotsford. One of their locations operates out of our Central Abby Campus at Mill Lake Church, and is predominantly run by Northview volunteers.

There is currently a need for a handful of people to fill some holes. Duties range from greeting shoppers, assisting shoppers with finding various food items, and engaging in a welcoming and friendly manner with guests as they shop. There is also a need for a few people who are willing to visit with any children that might come while their parents/guardians shop.

If you are available Friday or Saturday mornings for a few hours once a month, please contact Carrie Motz at [email protected] or fill out a Serve Card this weekend!

NORTHVIEW EVENTS & UPDATES

"Did You Know" with Darcy

Did you know that we have a webpage dedicated to the All In Building Campaign? There is lots of great information there including a "Frequently Asked Questions" section that will likely answer any questions that you may have about our new Worship Centre and all that's involved. If you've never visited that page, check it out by clicking the button below. If you have any questions that aren't listed there, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Well, now you know!

Special General Meeting

Join us for our Special General Meeting on Tuesday, March 11th at 7:00pm in the Worship Centre at the Downes Road Campus. We will be voting to approve the updated design and cost estimate for the new Worship Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend, but voting will be for members only. The Special General Meeting package is now available online.

TLC

From September to March, our Discipleship Department organizes Bible studies, and then each spring they put together our Theology, Life and Culture (TLC) classes which help people apply biblical teaching into their everyday situations and struggles.

This year our TLC classes will cover topics like spiritual warfare, why grandparenting and parenting matters, how to budget your finances, Christianity 101 and more! Classes will begin after Spring Break and are available to everyone! (If you are in high school, we welcome those in grade 9 and up).

Some courses are available to attend online and some courses offer daytime options with childcare available. Check out the link below to learn more about all of the courses being offered and to register!

Family Night at Downes Road

At Northview, we believe that parents are the primary disciple-makers of their children. From time to time, we host events for the whole family to participate in church together.

So mark your calendars for Friday, March 14th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at our Downes Road Campus as our Children's Ministry hosts a "Noah’s Ark" themed Family Night! Come dressed as your favorite animal for a chance to win a prize! We also encourage you to come dressed in animal pairs—just like Noah had two of every animal on the ark. Kids who come dressed in animal pairs will have a special chance to win a prize.

If you have kids or grandkids up to about the age of 12, we invite you to this special Family Night. We’ll sing songs, play games, and, of course, enjoy a few snacks. So, invite your friends and neighbors for an evening full of fun!

Doors open at 5:30pm for pre-service fun and activities. We can’t wait to see you there!

Seniors Coffee Hour

Join us on Monday, March 10 from 10:00am-11:30am in Centre Court for a special morning of connection over coffee and baked goods. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a devotional, meet special guests, and engage in meaningful conversations with fellow seniors. Whether you’re hoping to make new friends or reconnect with familiar faces, this event is for you!

Plus, you’ll have the chance to get to know Pastor Gary Lidstone, our dedicated pastor to seniors. Click the link below to register today!

GriefShare

It hurts to lose someone, and we want to support you during your time of grief. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. GriefShare is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help.

Join us at the Downes Road Campus for a 13-week cycle starting October 7th. Each session features a video teaching followed by group discussion. We welcome anyone experiencing grief to join us by registering at the link below.
