August 15 - August 21

Last weekend, on the hottest day of the year so far, our family (along with one of the kids’ friends) hiked to Chadsey Lake. If you haven’t been (or don’t know), Chadsey Lake is located on Sumas Mountain, five kilometres up a forest service road after the pavement ends. There are a number of trails that can take you there, but the most kid-friendly one is about 3km through the woods, and is the rare hike around here that takes you downhill on the way in, and uphill on the way out. It is also well-shaded, so even when it’s 35° outside, it still feels pleasant! Also, there is a nice little lake to cool off in, as the name suggests. All in all, it was a very enjoyable (and tiring) time.

But the purpose of this story, as you might have guessed, is not just to tell you about a good place to spend an active sunny day....

Join us this weekend as we continue our series Revelation: Behold the Lamb. This week, we’ll be in Revelation 19:11-20:15 as we fix our eyes on Jesus and are reminded of the hope, worship, and endurance this book calls us to.

We encourage you to bring your Bible and follow along as we open God’s Word together. If you forgot yours, we always have extras you can borrow at our Connect Desks!

Did you know that our seniors, during our Seniors Coffee Hour events, have consumed over 80 gallons of coffee and eaten over 3,000 baked goods and 60 pounds of oranges? Fall Kickoff weekend is almost here, and we’re excited to celebrate together across all our Abbotsford Campuses on September 6th and 7th. While the back field at Downes Road is currently under construction, the celebration is still happening at each campus, with fun indoor activities, snacks, and time to connect before and after the service.

On September 6th, at Central Abby, our pre service meal and post service dessert will still take place, but we'll have some additional components for everyone to enjoy, allowing us to reflect on what God has done this past year and to look ahead at what he has in store. We encourage you to come as early as 4:00pm - dinner will be ready, and so will the fun! 

Then join us on Sunday, September 7th at 6pm at the Downes Road Campus for a Worship Night where we will be responding to the book of Revelation. As we wrap up our sermon series, we’ll gather as one church to lift our voices in worship and respond to the greatness and glory of God. See you there!

The Gathering Markit is a boutique grocery store that offers a hand up to those encountering food insecurity, providing families with access to affordable and healthy food in Abbotsford. One location runs out of the Central Abbotsford Campus at Mill Lake Church, and is predominantly run by Northview volunteers.

There are some holes that we'd love to fill! Duties include greeting shoppers, assisting them with finding various food items, and engaging in a welcoming and friendly manner with the guests. There is also a need for a few people to visit with any children that might come while their parents/guardians shop.

This Bible Study traces the big storyline of the Bible and helps reshape our worldview, transforming our minds and hearts to know our God more fully. We will explore major biblical themes by reading and studying key texts from Genesis to Revelation, gaining a clearer understanding of how the Bible fits together as one unified story.

Each week focuses on a key theme or event, with a reading assignment of 1 to 3 chapters and approximately 2 to 4 hours of homework. Most importantly, we will see who God is and what He has done.

This is a Bible study for both men and women beginning September 8th and 10th at the Downes Road Campus, with multiple registration options available below.
